Reflexology
What is reflexology?
Reflexology is a complementary therapy that uses pressure on specific points of the the feet, or hands to support the body’s natural healing, balance and relaxation.
Reflexology may help reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep, increase circulation, support digestion and restore hormonal imbalances. It is a calming, non-invasive therapy that nurtures both body and mind.
Suitable for all ages, and most health conditions, treatments are tailored to every individual. Whilst not a replacement for medical care, reflexology can work alongside conventional treatment to enhance health and vitality. At The Beale Clinic, our reflexology appointments are always carried out with care, comfort, and a holistic approach in mind.
Specialist Reflexology
Fertility Reflexology
Having been through fertility treatment herself, Rachel understands what her clients are going through. She is passionate about sharing what she has learned, and about simply being a listening ear.
Your first session starts with a consultation about your fertility journey, cycle, lifestyle and medical history. Rachel then creates a treatment plan that treats you as a whole person and focuses on the reflexes that support fertility. Together, you'll work towards a more balanced body, ready for conception and a healthy pregnancy.
There is no evidence that reflexology interferes with medical fertility treatments. Feeling relaxed can also make procedures feel easier. A free phone consultation is recommended before your first treatment.
Maternity Reflexology
Rachel qualified in Maternity Reflexology in 2019. She loves treating maternity clients, as pregnancy brings so many symptoms and so many techniques to try! It's a precious time, and it's special to be part of it. Your comfort is always paramount.
Reflexology during pregnancy can:
Encourage deep relaxation
Reduce anxiety and stress
Improve sleep
For the most benefit, regular treatments throughout pregnancy are encouraged. Research suggests this can lead to shorter labours with less medical intervention (Valiani M et al, 2010).
Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage (RLD)
RLD is an award-winning technique that stimulates the lymphatic reflexes on the feet to help lymph move around the body. It can help with lymphoedema and swelling, and ease symptoms of conditions such as arthritis, asthma, eczema, chronic fatigue, migraines, IBS and muscular aches. It can also support recovery after surgery.
Rachel uses some RLD techniques in every treatment, and it is also available as a stand-alone 50-minute session. Get in touch to see if it's right for you.

About Rachel
Before becoming a reflexologist, Rachel was a primary school teacher for over ten years. She first discovered reflexology as a client. She was having treatments to ease a number of stress-related symptoms she experienced while teaching, including digestive issues and poor sleep. She couldn't believe how much reflexology helped her, and she wanted to share this wonderful therapy with others. So, in 2017, she made a big career change and began her Reflexology Diploma training. She has always been interested in holistic therapies, but for her, reflexology is the most fascinating and the most relaxing.
Rachel qualified with an NVQ Level 3 in Reflexology in July 2018. She trained at Calming Influences School of Holistic Therapies in Southampton, led by Dr Jackie James. The course is fully accredited by the Association of Reflexologists, of which she is a full member. This means she is bound by their code of practice and committed to continued training and development.
