Orthotics

Orthotics are custom-made or pre-fabricated devices designed to support, align, or improve the function of the feet and lower limbs. They work by redistributing pressure, correcting abnormal foot mechanics, and improving overall posture and movement.

Orthotics can be used to relieve pain from conditions such as plantar fasciitis, flat feet, high arches, bunions, and arthritis, as well as to enhance comfort during walking, running, or standing for long periods. By promoting more efficient movement patterns, orthotics can also help reduce strain on the ankles, knees, hips, and lower back.

They are typically prescribed after a detailed biomechanical assessment to ensure the right fit and level of support for each individual.

Please book a Musculoskeletal Podiatry appointment if you feel you may benefit from orthotics.
